Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving / Inventory Coordinator to join their client's team in California. The ideal candidate will support warehouse, inventory, and asset management operations, ensuring materials and equipment are handled efficiently and accurately. This role involves processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, completing ERP transactions, and providing excellent customer service within a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, stage, and distribute incoming packages, freight, and equipment.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, documenting any damages or discrepancies.
- Log and track incoming deliveries, including FedEx, UPS, DHL, certified mail, and registered shipments.
- Notify internal recipients promptly upon receipt of deliveries.
- Prepare, package, and palletize outbound shipments to ensure safe transportation.
- Generate and review domestic and international shipping documentation.
- Process purchase order receipts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Apply asset tags to equipment and update tracking systems accordingly.
- Execute ERP transactions accurately and in compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain shipment, inventory, and asset management records.
- Prepare operational reports and track monthly department metrics.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, inventory, and asset management activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to increase efficiency and service levels.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and hand trucks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, logistics, customer service, or a related operational environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems such as Oracle, SAP, Apex, or similar platforms.
- Experience preparing domestic and international shipping documentation.
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse processes.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Additional Details
This is a supervisory position with a salary range of $35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
